Les Paul’s Big Sound Experience will appear at the SXSW Gear Expo at this year’s South by Southwest Music Conference – SXSW as part of the festival’s 30 year anniversary. The Les Paul Foundation is currently celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Les Paul with a nationwide tour of Les Paul’s Big Sound Experience. As part of the three-day stop, the Les Paul tour will be open to all guests and musicians attending SXSW. Guests can experience innovations and technology aboard a state-of-the-art 53’ touring mobile unit and learn about Les Paul, one of the greatest music innovators of all time and often called the “Father of Modern Music.” Hours are Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m.
The South by Southwest Music and Media Conference (SXSW) is celebrating 30 years in Austin, Texas. The conference offers unmatched access to ideas and global viewpoints on an increasingly borderless industry. It aims to educate and inspire musicians and professionals alike, with session attended by over 30,000 registrants and showcasing artists. The large multi-industry tradeshow exhibition, Music Gear Expo and daytime stage performances round out the day while evenings are devoted to the SXSW Music Festival showcasing over 2,200 acts ranging from the unsigned to the iconic. Les Paul’s Big Sound Experience will be at the center of the SXSW Gear Expo.
The huge interactive mobile tour takes visitors behind the scenes into the world of Les Paul giving them an opportunity for numerous interactive exchanges within 1,000 square feet full of music, technology. Guests can immerse themselves in music exploration, sound and technology innovations and hands-on interactive entertainment. The tour is free to the public and will give fans the opportunity to walk away with their own virtual Les Paul souvenir.

Les Paul’s Big Sound Experience is all about the music, the inventions, the fans and the legacy of Les Paul.
