June 1, 2015 by Les Paul FoundationMilwaukee’s international airport is celebrating Les Paul with a brand new banner designed by Discovery World’s graphic artist Jodi Schomaker with input from the Les Paul Foundation. The colorful banner straddles two pillars in the airport’s main concourse.
Airport officials invited the Les Paul Foundation to display the banner for the month of June in celebration of what would have been Les Paul’s 100th birthday. The two-sided banner includes images of Les and BB King, Les and Mary’s wedding in Milwaukee, Les Paul arriving at the airport in 2007, Les being inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Les at a Milwaukee Brewer’s game, Les with Waukesha middle school students who wrote a song about Les and performed it for him.
