The Gabe Burdulis Band wins 2014 Les Paul Launchpad Award

July 9, 2014 by Les Paul Foundation

Months of local, regional and finally state-level competition netted The Gabe Burdulis Band the coveted 2014 Les Paul Launchpad Award.

The Gabe Burdulis Band a horn driven pop/rock/funk outfit, is from Madison West and Middleton High School in Wisconsin. Band members of the The Gabe Burdulis Band are:  Gabe Burdulis, Finn Altschuler, Sarah Benfi Benforado, Oliver Cardona, Eden Girma, Adam Jordahl, Tanner Tanyeri, Will Kenneally, Sydney Prall, Jack Smith.

Gabe Burdulis was also the lead singer of the 2012 Les Paul Launchpad Award winning band, The Daze.

The Gabe Burdulis Band will have a one hour gig at Milwaukee’s Summerfeston July 6th. All regional Launchpad winners will be on stage at the popular music venue.

The annual competition challenges garage bands across Wisconsin to be their best. It seems fitting for the award to be named for the person who perhaps had the first Wisconsin garage band in the early 1920s. The Les Paul Foundation continues its support of this youth-inspiring competition.

The runner-up band was Outbreak, a rock outfit comprised of musicians from Wisconsin’s Appleton Xavier, Kimberly and Shiocton High Schools.

Both Gabe Burdulis Band and Outbreak will receive a 2nd Summerfest 1-hour gig, each performing on Sunday July 6th at the BMO Harris Pavilion beginning at 2:00pm.

After The Rain, a rock outfit from Madison West High School, will be representing Launchpad performing a gig at the 2014 Vans Warped Tour Milwaukee stop on July 30 at the Summerfest grounds.

Thanks for all the great support.  Les would have been proud of these young bands – they all performed great!
